Abstract

Transportation serves as the lifeblood supporting national development, with sea transport playing a vital role in moving goods and passengers.1 Ensuring Shipping Safety (Y) is paramount, particularly in dense operational areas like Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang, which faces high traffic and specific environmental challenges.1 This quantitative study aims to analyze the partial influence of three primary operational factors: Communication System (X1), Safety Facilities (X2), and Ship Manning (X3) on Shipping Safety (Y). The research used a sample of 100 ship crew members collected through incidental sampling, analyzed using descriptive statistics and Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) via SPSS.1 The results indicate that all three independent variables significantly and positively influence Shipping Safety (Y). The MLR equation, Y = -1.398 + 0.218X1 + 0.278X2 + 0.302X3 + \mu, demonstrates that Ship Manning (X3) is the most dominant factor (t{hitung} = 4.930) in predicting safety outcomes, contributing 0.302 to Y.1 Collectively, these variables explain 72.4\% of the variance in Shipping Safety. The findings highlight that human competence and adherence to procedural discipline are the most critical leverage points for enhancing safety performance at the port.
